Role overview
The ETO is a key member of the crew on a Container Ship, responsible for the maintenance and operation of electrical and electronic equipment. This includes navigation, communication, and cargo handling systems. The ETO works closely with other crew members to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The ETO's day-to-day duties at sea include performing routine maintenance and repairs on electrical and electronic systems, troubleshooting faults, and testing equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly. The ETO also monitors the performance of systems and makes adjustments as needed to optimize performance. Additionally, the ETO is responsible for maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs.

What we look for
- Relevant STCW/CoC certificate, such as an Electro-Technical Officer certificate.
- At least 2 years of experience as an ETO on a container ship or similar vessel.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, including navigation, communication, and cargo handling systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
