Role overview

The ETO is a key member of the crew responsible for maintaining electrical and electronic equipment on board. This role is crucial to the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. The ETO will work closely with other crew members to ensure all systems are functioning properly.

The ETO's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on electrical and electronic systems, troubleshooting issues, and testing equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly. The ETO will also be responsible for maintaining records of maintenance and repairs, as well as ordering spare parts and supplies as needed. Additionally, the ETO will assist with cargo operations and other tasks as required.

  • Must hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate, such as an Electro-Technical Officer certificate.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience as an ETO on a merchant vessel.
  • Must have a strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems, including navigation and communication equipment.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be proficient in English, both written and spoken.
