Role overview
The Pumpman is a critical member of the deck team on a crude oil tanker, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of cargo pumps and associated equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of cargo handling operations and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Pumpman will work closely with other deck crew members to ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo.
The Pumpman's day-to-day duties will include monitoring cargo tank levels, operating cargo pumps, and performing routine maintenance on pump equipment. The Pumpman will also be responsible for troubleshooting issues with cargo pumps and associated equipment, and will work with the chief officer to develop and implement maintenance plans. Additionally, the Pumpman will participate in cargo operations, including loading and unloading cargo, and will assist with other deck duties as needed.

What we look for
- Valid STCW certificate with Pumpman endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pumpman on a tanker vessel
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to pass a physical examination and obtain a valid medical certificate
- Valid passport and any required visas
