Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a bulk carrier, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's engines and associated equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices. The 2nd Engineer will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the main engine, auxiliary engines, and other equipment. They will also be responsible for monitoring and controlling the vessel's fuel consumption and performing troubleshooting and fault-finding tasks as needed. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will be required to keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs.

What we look for
- A valid STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a bulk carrier or similar vessel.
- A strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A valid medical certificate is required.
