Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Container Ship, responsible for maintaining and repairing ship equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices. The 2nd Engineer will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of the ship.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties include performing routine maintenance and repairs on engines, pumps, and other equipment. They will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining fuel and lubricant systems, as well as overseeing the work of junior engineers. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will be required to keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs.

What we look for
- Must hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a merchant ship.
- Must have a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be proficient in English.
