Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Crude oil tanker, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's engines and associated equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently. The 2nd Engineer will also assist the Chief Engineer in managing the engine department.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel's engines and equipment, monitoring and optimizing engine performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for training and supervising junior engineers and motormen. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will participate in cargo operations and other deck activities as required.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a tanker vessel
- Must have a strong knowledge of engine maintenance and repair
- Must have excellent communication and leadership skills
- Must be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced maritime environment
