The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Crude oil tanker, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel's machinery. The role involves working closely with the Chief Engineer to maintain and repair equipment, as well as supervising junior engineers. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties include monitoring and maintaining the vessel's engines, pumps, and other machinery, performing routine inspections and repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for training and supervising junior engineers and motormen, as well as participating in emergency drills and exercises. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will be required to keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs, and report any issues or concerns to the Chief Engineer.

Requirements
- OKRelevant STCW/CoC certificate as 2nd Engineer
- OKAt least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a Crude oil tanker
- OKStrong knowledge of engine maintenance and repair procedures
- OKAbility to work independently and as part of a team
- OKHigh school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in marine engineering or a related field preferred
