Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a General Cargo Vessel, responsible for maintaining and operating the ship's engines and related equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently. The 2nd Engineer will report to the Chief Engineer and work closely with other crew members to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the ship's engines, pumps, and other equipment. They will also be responsible for monitoring and controlling the vessel's fuel consumption and performing troubleshooting and repairs as needed. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will assist with cargo operations and other deck activities as required.

What we look for
- Must hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate, such as a Officer of the Watch (Engineer) certificate
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a similar type of vessel
- Must have a strong understanding of engine room operations and maintenance procedures
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be physically fit and able to pass a medical examination
