The 2nd Officer is a key member of the deck team on a bulk carrier, responsible for navigating the vessel and ensuring the safety of the crew and cargo. The role involves working closely with the Master and other officers to plan and execute voyages. The 2nd Officer will also be involved in cargo operations and deck maintenance.

The 2nd Officer's day-to-day duties at sea will include navigating the vessel using a range of equipment and techniques, monitoring weather and sea conditions, and keeping watch on the bridge. The 2nd Officer will also be responsible for updating navigation charts and publications, and for conducting safety drills and training exercises. In addition, the 2nd Officer will be required to maintain accurate records of the vessel's movements and operations.

Requirements
