Role overview
The 2nd Officer is a key member of the deck team on a Crude oil tanker, responsible for navigating the vessel and ensuring the safety of the crew, cargo, and ship. This role requires strong navigation and communication skills. The 2nd Officer will work closely with the Master and other officers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The 2nd Officer's day-to-day duties will include navigating the vessel, updating charts and publications, and maintaining the ship's safety equipment. The 2nd Officer will also be responsible for supervising deck crew members and participating in cargo operations. Additionally, the 2nd Officer will be required to keep accurate records of navigation, cargo, and safety activities.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency
- Must have at least 12 months of experience as a 2nd Officer on a tanker vessel
- Must have a valid tanker endorsement
- Must have a valid medical certificate
- Must have excellent navigation and communication skills
