Role overview
The 3rd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Crude oil tanker, responsible for the maintenance and operation of the vessel's engines and associated equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices. The 3rd Engineer will work under the supervision of the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The 3rd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance tasks, monitoring engine performance, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. The 3rd Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of engine performance and maintenance activities. Additionally, the 3rd Engineer will participate in safety drills and training exercises to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 3rd Engineer on a merchant vessel
- Must have a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices
- Must hold a valid STCW certificate
- Must be able to pass a medical examination and obtain any necessary visas
