Role overview
We are seeking a skilled 3rd Engineer to join our team on a General Cargo Vessel. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of the vessel's engine department. This is a contract position with Crewell, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
As a 3rd Engineer, your day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on engine equipment, monitoring fuel consumption and optimizing energy efficiency, and collaborating with other engineers to ensure smooth vessel operations. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of engine performance and maintenance activities. Additionally, you will participate in safety drills and training exercises to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a 3rd Engineer on a merchant vessel
- Must hold a valid STCW certificate, including proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a strong foundation in mathematics and physics
- Must be able to pass a medical examination and obtain a valid seafarer's medical certificate
