Role overview
The 3rd Officer is a key member of the deck team on a General Cargo Vessel, responsible for ensuring the safe navigation and operation of the ship. This role involves working closely with the Master and other officers to plan and execute voyages. The 3rd Officer will also be involved in cargo operations and deck maintenance.
The day-to-day duties of the 3rd Officer include navigating the vessel, updating charts and publications, and conducting safety drills and training exercises. The 3rd Officer will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the vessel's safety equipment and performing regular inspections of the deck and cargo areas. Additionally, the 3rd Officer will assist with cargo planning and loading/unloading operations.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency
- Must have completed all required STCW training courses
- Must have at least 12 months of experience as a deck officer on a merchant vessel
- Must hold a valid medical certificate
- Must have a good understanding of ISM and ISPS codes
