Role overview
The 3rd Officer is a key member of the deck team on a General Cargo Vessel, responsible for navigation, cargo operations, and maintenance. This role requires a strong understanding of maritime regulations and safety protocols. The 3rd Officer will work closely with the Master and other officers to ensure safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The 3rd Officer's day-to-day duties will include navigating the vessel, monitoring cargo operations, and performing routine maintenance tasks. They will also be responsible for keeping accurate records and logs, and participating in drills and training exercises. Additionally, the 3rd Officer will stand watch, monitor weather and sea conditions, and respond to emergencies as needed.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency
- Must have completed all required STCW training and certifications
- Must have at least 12 months of experience as a junior officer on a merchant vessel
- Must have a strong understanding of navigation, cargo operations, and vessel maintenance
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
