The 4th Engineer will assist the engine department in operating and maintaining the main and auxiliary machinery of a VLCC crude oil tanker. Responsibilities include monitoring plant performance, supporting fuel and lube oil management, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Daily duties involve routine inspections of pumps, compressors and generators, recording operational data, and participating in watch rotations under the supervision of the Chief Engineer. The role also requires troubleshooting minor faults, assisting with planned maintenance, and preparing spare parts inventories. All work is performed in accordance with the ship’s safety management system and international regulations.

  • OK- STCW 2010 certification with Engine Room Rating (or higher) and valid 4th Engineer CoC.
  • OK- Minimum 2 years sea service as a junior engineer on oil tankers or similar vessels.
  • OK- Proficiency in engine monitoring software and basic computer skills.
  • OK- Ability to work in a watch system and pass a medical fitness exam.
  • OK- Good command of English, both spoken and written.
