The 4th Engineer assists the Chief Engineer in maintaining the main propulsion and auxiliary plant on a 30,000‑dwt crude oil tanker. You will support safe and efficient operation of pumps, compressors and cargo handling systems.
Daily tasks include monitoring engine parameters, performing routine maintenance on generators and fuel oil systems, and recording all technical data in the ship’s log. You will carry out scheduled inspections, lubricate moving parts and replace filters as required. The role also involves responding to alarms, troubleshooting faults and assisting senior engineers during watch changes.
