Role overview
The Bosun is a key member of the deck crew on a Bulk carrier, responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the vessel's deck and superstructure. This role involves working closely with other crew members to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the ship. The Bosun will also be involved in cargo operations and other deck activities.
The Bosun's day-to-day duties at sea will include supervising deck maintenance tasks, such as painting and cleaning, and ensuring that all deck equipment is in good working order. The Bosun will also be responsible for managing the vessel's stores and inventory, and for performing safety inspections and drills. Additionally, the Bosun will assist with cargo loading and discharging operations, and with navigating the vessel in port.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Bosun or Able Seaman certificate of competency.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Bosun or in a similar role on a bulk carrier.
- Must have a valid STCW certificate, including proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats.
- Must have a good understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
- Must be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
