Role overview
The Bosun is a key member of the deck crew on our General Cargo Vessel, responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the ship's deck and superstructure. This role involves supervising and participating in deck operations, including cargo handling and maintenance tasks. The Bosun reports directly to the Chief Officer.
The Bosun's day-to-day duties at sea include supervising deck crew members, performing routine maintenance and repairs, and ensuring the deck is safe and secure for cargo operations. The Bosun is also responsible for monitoring and maintaining deck equipment, such as cranes and winches. Additionally, the Bosun participates in cargo watches and assists with cargo operations as needed.

What we look for
- Must hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate as a Bosun or able seafarer.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Bosun or similar role on a cargo vessel.
- Must have a strong understanding of deck operations, maintenance, and safety procedures.
- Must be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced maritime environment.
- Must have good communication and leadership skills.
