Role overview
The ETO is a critical member of the crew on a Very Large Crude Carrier, responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical and electronic equipment. This includes navigation, communication, and cargo handling systems. The ETO must be able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The ETO's day-to-day duties at sea will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on electrical and electronic systems, troubleshooting faults and defects, and testing and calibrating equipment. The ETO will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs, and for ordering spare parts and supplies as needed. Additionally, the ETO will participate in drills and training exercises to ensure readiness in case of emergencies.

What we look for
- Relevant STCW/CoC certificate, such as an Electro-Technical Officer certificate of competency.
- At least 2 years of experience as an ETO on a tanker or similar vessel.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, including navigation, communication, and cargo handling systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in electrical or electronic engineering preferred.
