Role overview
The Chief Engineer is a senior management position on our AHT vessel, responsible for the overall maintenance and operation of the ship's engine department. This role requires strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to manage a team of engineers. The Chief Engineer will work closely with the vessel's captain and other officers to ensure safe and efficient operation.
The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties include overseeing routine maintenance, troubleshooting engine problems, and managing fuel consumption. They will also be responsible for implementing safety procedures and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will conduct regular inspections and repairs to maintain the vessel's machinery and equipment.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Chief Engineer's Certificate of Competency.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on a similar vessel type.
- Must have a strong understanding of engine maintenance and repair procedures.
- Must be able to work independently and manage a team of engineers.
- Must hold a valid STCW certificate, including survival crafts and rescue boats.
