Role overview
The Chief Engineer is a senior management level position on our AHTS vessel, responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the ship's engine department. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and leadership skills. The Chief Engineer will work closely with other departments to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.
The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties include overseeing engine maintenance, managing fuel consumption, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Chief Engineer will also be responsible for training and supervising junior engineering staff, as well as managing the engine department's budget and resources. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will be required to respond to emergencies and make critical decisions to ensure the safe operation of the vessel.

What we look for
- A valid Chief Engineer's STCW certificate of competency.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on a similar type of vessel.
- Strong knowledge of engine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in marine engineering or a related field preferred.
