The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the overall operation, maintenance and performance of the main and auxiliary machinery on a modern container ship. You will ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and technical standards while leading the engine department.
Day‑to‑day duties include planning and supervising daily maintenance, monitoring plant performance, and troubleshooting any mechanical failures at sea. You will manage the engine crew, conduct drills, and keep detailed technical logs. Coordination with the ship’s master and shore office for spare parts and repairs is also required.

Requirements

- OKValid Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency (COC) for a container ship, STCW 2010 endorsement.
- OKMinimum 5 years experience as Senior Engineer on a container vessel of 5,000 GT or larger.
- OKComprehensive knowledge of IMO, MARPOL and SOLAS regulations and shipboard safety procedures.
- OKProficiency with condition‑monitoring systems, diesel‑electric propulsion and automation equipment.
- OKStrong leadership skills and proven ability to manage a multicultural engine crew.
