The Chief Engineer will be the senior technical officer on a 30,000‑dwt crude oil tanker, responsible for the overall performance and safety of the propulsion and auxiliary plant. You will lead the engine department, ensure compliance with international regulations, and maintain the vessel’s operational readiness for long voyages.
Daily duties include supervising the engine room crew, monitoring and adjusting plant parameters, and conducting routine and emergency maintenance on main and auxiliary machinery. You will prepare and verify daily and weekly technical reports, manage spare parts inventory, and coordinate with the deck department during cargo operations. All work must be documented in accordance with the company’s quality and safety management system.

Requirements
- OK- Valid Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (CoC) and STCW endorsement for tankers
- OK- Minimum 5 years sea service as a First Assistant Engineer on crude oil tankers
- OK- Proven experience with low‑sulphur fuel oil handling and ballast water management systems
- OK- Strong knowledge of MARPOL, SOLAS, and ISM Code compliance
- OK- Excellent leadership, communication skills and ability to work under pressure
