Role overview
The Chief Engineer is a key member of the engine department on our General Cargo Vessel, responsible for the overall maintenance and operation of the ship's engines and related systems. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and leadership skills. The Chief Engineer will work closely with other crew members to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties will include monitoring and maintaining the ship's engines, pumps, and other equipment, as well as managing fuel consumption and performing repairs as needed. The Chief Engineer will also be responsible for supervising junior engineers and coordinating with other departments to ensure seamless operations. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will be required to maintain accurate records and reports of engine performance and maintenance activities.

What we look for
- A valid Chief Engineer's STCW/CoC certificate is required for this position.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on a similar type of vessel.
- A strong understanding of engine maintenance, repair, and operation.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
