Role overview
The Chief Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a General Cargo Vessel, responsible for the overall maintenance and operation of the ship's engines and related systems. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and leadership skills. The Chief Engineer will work closely with other crew members to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties will include overseeing routine maintenance and repairs, managing fuel consumption and emissions, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Chief Engineer will also be responsible for training and supervising junior engineers and other crew members. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will be required to respond to emergencies and make critical decisions to ensure the safety of the vessel and its crew.

What we look for
- A valid Chief Engineer's Certificate of Competency (CoC) is required.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on a similar type of vessel.
- A strong understanding of engine maintenance and repair procedures.
