What this job needs

We are seeking an experienced and highly competent Chief Engineer to join our Bulk Carrier vessel. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, and management of the vessel’s engine department, ensuring that all machinery and technical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, ISM Code, flag-state, and company requirements.

Requirements

  • OKValid Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (COC).
  • OKValid STCW certificates and all mandatory maritime training certificates.
  • OKValid Passport and Seaman Book / CDC.
  • OKValid Medical Fitness Certificate.
  • OKRelevant Chief Engineer experience on Bulk Carriers.
  • OKProven experience in the operation and maintenance of main engines, auxiliary engines, boilers, pumps, compressors, and other engine-room machinery.
  • OKGood knowledge of planned maintenance systems (PMS) and engine-room maintenance procedures.
  • OKStrong knowledge of SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, ISM Code, and company SMS requirements.
  • OKExperience with bunkering operations, fuel management, and pollution-prevention procedures.
  • OKAbility to troubleshoot machinery breakdowns and manage emergency situations effectively.
  • OKGood leadership and crew-management skills.
  • OKAbility to maintain accurate engine-room logs, maintenance records, and technical reports.
  • OKGood communication and coordination skills with the Master, crew, shore management, and service engineers.
  • OKMust be physically fit and medically suitable for sea service.
  • OKAll certificates and documents must be valid and verifiable.
  • OKCandidate should be available for joining as required by the Company.
