Role overview
The Chief Officer is a senior crew member responsible for the navigation, deck, and cargo operations on a bulk carrier. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations. The Chief Officer will work closely with the Master to achieve these goals.
The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising deck crew, maintaining deck equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. They will also be responsible for cargo planning, navigation, and communication with shoreside personnel. Additionally, the Chief Officer will participate in drills and training exercises to maintain emergency preparedness.

What we look for
- Valid Chief Mate certificate of competency
- At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Officer on bulk carriers
- Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations and standards
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
