Role overview
The Chief Officer is a senior crew member on a Bulk carrier responsible for overseeing cargo operations and deck maintenance. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. The Chief Officer will work closely with the Master to achieve this goal.
The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising cargo loading and discharge, performing safety drills and training, and maintaining deck equipment and stores. They will also be responsible for navigating the vessel during the Master's absence and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Additionally, the Chief Officer will conduct regular inspections to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Chief Officer Certificate of Competency.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Chief Officer on a bulk carrier.
- Must have a strong understanding of cargo operations, deck maintenance, and safety procedures.
- Must be proficient in English and have excellent communication skills.
- Must be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced maritime environment.
