Role overview
The Chief Officer is a senior crew member responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a Container Ship. This role involves overseeing cargo operations, maintaining deck equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The Chief Officer will work closely with the Master to achieve these goals.
The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising cargo loading and discharging, performing safety inspections, and maintaining accurate records of cargo and deck operations. The Chief Officer will also be responsible for navigating the vessel during the Master's absence and participating in drills and training exercises. Additionally, the Chief Officer will oversee the maintenance and repair of deck equipment and machinery.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Chief Officer's Certificate of Competency
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Chief Officer on a container ship
- Must have a strong understanding of cargo operations and safety procedures
- Must be proficient in English and have excellent communication skills
- Must be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced maritime environment
