Role overview

The Chief Officer is a senior crew member responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Container Ship. This role involves overseeing cargo operations, maintaining deck equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The Chief Officer will work closely with the Master to achieve these goals.

The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising cargo loading and discharging, performing safety drills and training, and maintaining accurate records of cargo and deck operations. The Chief Officer will also be responsible for navigating the vessel during the Master's absence and participating in bridge watchkeeping duties. Additionally, the Chief Officer will conduct regular inspections of the vessel's hull, superstructure, and equipment to identify and report any defects or damage.

  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced maritime environment
