Role overview
The Chief Officer is a senior crew member responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. This role involves overseeing cargo operations, maintaining deck equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations on a crude oil tanker. The Chief Officer will work closely with the Master to achieve these goals.
The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising cargo loading and discharging, performing safety drills and training, and maintaining accurate records of cargo and deck operations. They will also be responsible for navigating the vessel during cargo operations and ensuring that all safety procedures are followed. Additionally, the Chief Officer will conduct regular inspections of the vessel's deck and cargo equipment to identify and address any maintenance issues.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Chief Officer Certificate of Competency.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Chief Officer on a tanker vessel.
- Must have a valid STCW certificate, including tanker endorsement.
- Must have a good understanding of ISM and ISPS codes.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
