Role overview

The Chief Officer is a senior crew member responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. This role involves overseeing cargo operations and deck maintenance on a crude oil tanker. The Chief Officer will work closely with the Master to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising cargo loading and discharging, monitoring vessel stability and stress, and coordinating deck maintenance and repair activities. The Chief Officer will also be responsible for navigating the vessel during the Master's absence and ensuring that all safety equipment is properly maintained. Additionally, the Chief Officer will conduct regular safety drills and training exercises for the crew.
