Role overview

The Chief Officer is a senior crew member on a Crude oil tanker, responsible for the vessel's cargo and deck operations. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure safe and efficient operations. The Chief Officer will work closely with the Master and other crew members to achieve this goal.

The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising cargo operations, maintaining deck equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. They will also be responsible for navigating the vessel, using electronic charts and other navigation tools. Additionally, the Chief Officer will conduct regular safety drills and training exercises to prepare the crew for emergency situations.
