Role overview
The Chief Officer is a senior crew member responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the General Cargo Vessel. This role involves overseeing cargo operations, maintaining deck equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Chief Officer will also assist the Master in making key decisions.
The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising cargo loading and discharge, performing safety drills, and maintaining accurate records of cargo and deck operations. The Chief Officer will also be responsible for navigating the vessel during the Master's absence and ensuring that all safety equipment is in good working order. Additionally, the Chief Officer will conduct regular inspections of the vessel's deck and cargo areas.

What we look for
- A valid Chief Officer Certificate of Competency
- At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Officer on a General Cargo Vessel
- A strong understanding of cargo operations and safety regulations
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- A valid medical certificate
