Role overview
The Chief Officer is a senior crew member on a Very Large Gas Carrier, responsible for overseeing cargo operations and deck maintenance. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. The Chief Officer will work closely with the Master and other crew members to achieve this goal.
The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising cargo loading and discharging, monitoring deck maintenance and repairs, and conducting safety drills and training exercises. They will also be responsible for navigating the vessel during cargo operations and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and protocols. Additionally, the Chief Officer will maintain accurate records and reports of cargo operations and deck maintenance.

What we look for
- Valid Chief Officer Certificate of Competency for gas tankers
- At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Officer on a gas tanker
- Strong knowledge of cargo operations and deck maintenance
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
