The Electro‑Technical Officer will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of all electrical, electronic and automation systems aboard a VLCC crude oil tanker. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and deck crew to ensure safe and efficient cargo handling and vessel performance.

Daily duties include monitoring power generation and distribution, troubleshooting control‑system faults, and performing preventive maintenance on generators, propulsion motors and cargo pumps. You will keep detailed technical logs, manage spare‑part inventories and coordinate with shore‑based technical support for major repairs. Compliance with classification society surveys and IMO regulations will be part of your routine checks.

Operate safely

Requirements

  • OK- STCW 2/1, 2/2, 2/3, 2/4, 2/5 certificates and a valid Electro‑Technical Officer CoC
  • OK- Minimum 2 years sea service on crude oil tankers or similar vessels
  • OK- Proficiency with shipboard automation, PLCs, and high‑voltage systems
  • OK- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and classification society standards
  • OK- Good command of English, both written and spoken
