Role overview
The ETO is a key member of the crew on a Crude oil tanker, responsible for the maintenance and operation of electrical and electronic equipment. This includes navigation, communication, and cargo handling systems. The ETO plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The ETO's day-to-day duties at sea include performing routine maintenance and repairs on electrical and electronic systems, troubleshooting faults, and testing equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly. The ETO also assists with cargo operations, including the use of cargo pumps and valves. Additionally, the ETO is responsible for maintaining accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.

What we look for
- Relevant STCW/CoC certificate, such as an Electro-Technical Officer certificate
- At least 2 years of experience as an ETO on a merchant vessel
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, including navigation and communication equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent required
