You will oversee all deck operations, ensure compliance with international regulations, and maintain the vessel’s operational readiness.

Daily duties include planning and executing voyages, supervising watchkeeping officers, and monitoring cargo handling procedures. You will conduct regular safety drills, review bridge watch logs, and coordinate with the engine department to optimize fuel consumption. Communication with shore offices and port authorities to obtain clearances and report progress is also required.

Requirements

  • OKSTCW 2009 Master Unlimited Certificate of Competency (CoC) endorsed for VLCC
  • OKValid Class 1 Medical Certificate and Seafarer’s Identity Document
  • OKMinimum 3,000 days sea service as Master or Chief Officer on tankers, with at least 1,200 days on VLCCs
  • OKProven experience in crude oil cargo operations, including inert gas and ballast management
  • OKStrong leadership and communication skills; proficient with ECDIS, GMDSS and AIS
