Role overview
The Motorman/Oiler will be part of the engine department on a Cable lay vessel, responsible for maintaining and operating engine room equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of engine systems and mechanical components. The vessel operates globally, laying underwater cables for various projects.
The Motorman/Oiler will perform daily checks on engine room equipment, complete maintenance tasks, and assist with repairs as needed. They will also monitor fuel and lubricant levels, ensuring optimal engine performance. Additionally, they will work closely with other engine department crew members to maintain a safe and efficient engine room.

What we look for
- Relevant STCW/CoC certificate for Motorman/Oiler
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role on a merchant vessel
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physical fitness to perform manual labor in a marine environment
