Role overview
The Motorman/Oiler is a crucial member of the engine department on a crude oil tanker, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's engines and associated equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of engine mechanics and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Motorman/Oiler will work closely with other crew members to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The day-to-day duties of the Motorman/Oiler include performing routine maintenance and repairs on engines and equipment, monitoring fuel levels and consumption, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Motorman/Oiler will also be responsible for maintaining records of engine performance and reporting any issues to the chief engineer. Additionally, the Motorman/Oiler will participate in drills and training exercises to maintain emergency preparedness.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid STCW Motorman/Oiler certificate of competency.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience working on a crude oil tanker or similar vessel.
- Must have a strong understanding of engine mechanics and maintenance procedures.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and follow instructions from senior officers.
- Must be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
