Role overview
The Motorman/Oiler is a key member of the engine department on our General Cargo Vessel, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's engines and associated equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of engine mechanics and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Motorman/Oiler will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The day-to-day duties of the Motorman/Oiler include performing routine maintenance tasks, monitoring engine performance, and carrying out repairs as needed. The Motorman/Oiler will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the engine room, as well as complying with all safety and environmental regulations. Additionally, the Motorman/Oiler will assist with cargo operations and other tasks as directed by the Chief Engineer.

What we look for
- Relevant STCW/CoC certificate
- 2 years of experience as a Motorman/Oiler on a merchant vessel
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a medical examination and obtain any necessary visas
- Good communication and teamwork skills
