Role overview
The Motorman/Oiler is a key member of the engine department on our General Cargo Vessel, responsible for maintaining the vessel's engines and associated equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of engine operations and maintenance. The Motorman/Oiler will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The day-to-day duties of the Motorman/Oiler include performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and filter replacements, monitoring engine performance, and identifying potential issues before they become major problems. The Motorman/Oiler will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the engine room. Additionally, the Motorman/Oiler will assist with repairs and troubleshooting as needed.

What we look for
- Relevant STCW/CoC certificate for a Motorman/Oiler
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role on a merchant vessel
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail
- Physical fitness to perform manual labor in a marine environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
