The Pumpman is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the cargo pump system on an oil/chemical tanker. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and deck crew to ensure cargo handling complies with international regulations. The role requires vigilance during loading, discharge and tank cleaning operations.
Daily duties include monitoring pump performance, conducting routine inspections, and performing preventive maintenance on pumps, valves and associated pipelines. You will troubleshoot mechanical failures, replace worn parts and keep detailed logs of all activities. Coordination with the deck department for cargo plan execution and emergency response is also part of the job.

Requirements
- OKSTCW Certificate of Competency to Pumpman (or equivalent)
- OKValid Medical Certificate and Seafarer’s Identity Document
- OKMinimum 2 years experience on oil or chemical tankers in pump operations
- OKBasic knowledge of cargo handling procedures and safety regulations
- OKAbility to read technical drawings and perform basic welding or pipe fitting
