Full Definition

NOR is the trigger for laytime under a voyage charter. Once the vessel has arrived at the agreed place and is physically and documentarily ready (holds inspected, certificates valid), the master tenders NOR. Laytime commences at the time agreed in the charter party after NOR is accepted, or after the 'turn-time'. Whether NOR can be validly tendered before the vessel occupies a berth (WIBON/WIPON/WICCON clauses) is a frequent source of legal dispute.
