Vessel Profile

Vale Brasil

Lead ship of the Valemax class of very large ore carriers (VLOC), purpose-built to carry iron ore from Brazil to Asia. With a deadweight of around 400,000 tonnes, the Valemax class roughly halved the per-tonne shipping cost of iron ore compared with capesize bulkers and transformed the economics of long-haul dry-bulk trade.
