The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a bulk carrier, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's engines and associated equipment. The role requires a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices. The 2nd Engineer will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel's engines and equipment, monitoring and analyzing performance data, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for supervising junior engineering staff and assisting with cargo operations as needed. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will participate in safety drills and training exercises to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements
- OKA valid STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer is required.
- OKAt least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a bulk carrier or similar vessel.
- OKA strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices.
- OKExcellent communication and teamwork skills.
- OKAbility to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
