Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a bulk carrier, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's engines and associated equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices. The 2nd Engineer will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include monitoring and maintaining the vessel's engines, pumps, and other equipment, as well as performing routine repairs and maintenance tasks. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for supervising junior engineering staff and assisting with cargo operations as needed. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will be required to keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a bulk carrier
- Must have a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills
