The 2nd Engineer assists the Chief Engineer in operating and maintaining the main propulsion and auxiliary machinery of an 8,000 TEU container ship. You will monitor performance, ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, and support the engineering team during voyages.
Daily tasks include supervising engine‑room watch, conducting routine inspections, and performing preventive maintenance on generators, boilers and fuel systems. You will troubleshoot faults, record technical data, and prepare daily reports for the Chief Engineer. Coordination with the deck department for bunkering and ballast operations is also required.

Requirements
- OK- Valid STCW 2010 certificates: Engine Room Rating, Advanced Fire Fighting, Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats.
- OK- Approved 2nd Engineer Certificate of Competency (CoC) for a container ship of 5,000 GT or above.
- OK- Minimum 2 years sea service as 2nd Engineer on a container vessel.
- OK- Familiarity with IMO regulations, MARPOL and ISGOTT.
- OK- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
