The 2nd Engineer assists the Chief Engineer in operating and maintaining the main and auxiliary machinery of a container ship. You will ensure plant performance meets the ship’s schedule and environmental standards. The role requires close coordination with the deck department during cargo operations.
Daily duties include monitoring engine performance, conducting routine inspections, and performing preventive maintenance on propulsion and power generation systems. You will troubleshoot faults, oversee repairs, and keep accurate technical logs. Participation in watch rotations and emergency drills is also required.

Requirements
- OKSTCW 2010 Basic Safety Training and Engine Officer Certificate of Competency (2nd Engineer)
- OKMinimum 2 years recent experience as 2nd Engineer on a container ship of 10,000 GT or larger
- OKProficiency with diesel engine monitoring systems and condition‑based maintenance software
- OKValid medical certificate and seafarer’s identity document
- OKGood command of English, both written and spoken
