Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Crude oil tanker, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel's machinery. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The 2nd Engineer will report to the Chief Engineer and assist with the overall management of the engine department.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel's engines and associated equipment, monitoring and optimizing fuel consumption, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for supervising junior engineering staff and assisting with the development of maintenance schedules and budgets. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will participate in drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a tanker vessel
- Must have a strong understanding of engine operation and maintenance
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and supervise junior staff
- Must hold a valid medical certificate and be fit for duty at sea
